SCION is the new generation internet infrastructure designed for businesses and governments with critical infrastructures.
The Hague, 30 January 2025 - As the first provider in the Netherlands, Odido is introducing Swiss software company Anapaya's new security solution for the business market in the Netherlands. This SCION security protocol, developed at the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH), is the new security standard and specifically designed for companies and governments with vital internet infrastructures. The cooperation with Anapaya makes Odido one of the first providers in the Netherlands able to offer this new technology to critical infrastructure customers.
New and extra protection
Odido is bringing, in cooperation with Anapaya, a unique and new service to the Dutch market, already successfully used by Swiss banks, for example. This protocol, SCION (Scalability, Control and Isolation On Next-generation Networks), offers a revolutionary approach to internet traffic. Unlike traditional internet protocols, SCION offers complete control over data flows. This means that information is transmitted exclusively via predefined, secure paths. Thanks to its multi-path routing functionality, the system can immediately switch to an alternative route in case of a disruption, ensuring continuous and reliable service. As a result, transmitted data is not only more secure but also more resilient, making SCION of great interest to vital sectors where security is especially important, such as the financial, healthcare, energy and government sectors.
"An exceptional addition to our service portfolio"
Odido's partnership with Anapaya underscores the telecom provider's ambition to support corporate customers in their digital transformation.
"SCION is an important addition to the existing security solutions we offer," says Martijn Teekens, Chief Commercial Officer Enterprise of Odido Business. "We see that security is becoming increasingly important. With this new protocol we offer our enterprise customers an innovative and unique protection of corporate networks and Internet traffic."
"We are thrilled to partner with Odido, the first internet service provider in the Netherlands to offer SCION connectivity," said Martin Bosshardt, CEO of Anapaya. "This partnership increases SCION’s reach to all users in the Netherlands. With Odido’s commitment to innovation and SCION’s next-generation network architecture, we are setting a new standard for secure and future-proof internet services in the region."
