ISPs are offering SCION and it's fully deployed in the market. 

SCION is available via any Internet access in Switzerland and is a standard product of Swisscom, Sunrise, Cyberlink, VTX, and Switch (see the full list of SCIONabled providers). SCION is in full production across various markets.

Specifically, the Swiss Secure Finance Network (SSFN) has been fully operational since 2021. Additionally, the Swiss Secure Health Network (SSHN) is at the technical implementation stage (Q2 2024), and the Swiss Secure Energy Network (SSEN) has reached the conceptual project approval stage.  

Research is important: continued collaborations with researchers at ETH, Carnegie Mellon University, Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg and Princeton University help to ensure that SCION not only can provide unseen resiliency and security properties but also will make sure that features like carbon neutral routing or dynamic inter domain route pricing will someday become a reality. Features like this have long been believed impossible to achieve – but have become feasible because of SCION.
